While crazy people were out there playing tag shopping in the wee hours of the morning, crazy me was out there snapping pictures of our backyard at sunrise. It was just me, lots and lots of fog, some snooping deer and probably our very sly stalking coyote neighbor who has killed a couple of baby deer already. By the time I realized I needed some protection I had wondered off too far to go back home. I was working against time and mother nature. It was either I get a weapon or lose the fog and the position of the sun; I chose the fog. It was at this point that I realized I should have brought our loving pitbull along with me. Not sure if the pictures were worth the risk but I loved being out there within the wall of thick fog just when the sun was coming up. It was a serene moment in my own peaceful little world away from this madness of a world.

This weekend was the 235th Anniversary of the Battle of Fort Mifflin. My husband belongs to the 11th Pennsylvania Unit and they participate in a number of reenactments throughout the year. Every year for the Fort Mifflin reenactment I get the chance to venture off and do some ghost hunting which is always a good scare. I have high hopes that maybe one year I will get to encounter one of the Fort Mifflin ghosts. Each year I spend minutes alone in the dark snapping flash photography inside the case mates with no luck of capturing a ghost. I guess tv's Ghost Hunters have better luck. One thing I do capture with my camera is the hard work and dedication of all the reenactors that participate in these historical events. I am always amazed at the accurate detail of their uniforms, weapons, and knowlege of their American history. Ask these guys any question and without any hesitation they will give you the big picture of the American Revolution. A big THANK YOU to all the reenactors for always putting on an impressive event! AuthorPlain and simple, I'm painfully the artsy type. I like to keep my mind occupied because it keeps me out of trouble. I love art, photography, music and the 1940's. Between art exhibits, photography projects, design work, developing and promoting my new upcoming line the "LuvSicks", dressing up in early 40's vintage clothing for WWII living history events and endlessly researching the 40's home front and women's fashion to help educate the audience, and dusting off my drum sticks once in a while, I am endlessly busy. In a nutshell I draw silly pictures, shoot pictures, and play dress-up. In a nutshell I guess I never grew up. In a nutshell I guess I'm just a nut! Archives
